Turns out it&#8217;s everyone but me.  That&#8217;s who doesn&#8217;t love Looney Tunes.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Book Revue<\/em> (1964, Robert Clampett)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Bunch of book puns, most of which flew over our heads, then Daffy Duck shows up as &#8220;Danny Boy&#8221;.  He saves Red Riding Hood from the wolf.  Everyone is impressed with Frank Sinatra.  It&#8217;s quite confusing.  Love the use of random newspaper articles as backgrounds.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/journal\/image15\/looney2015-01.jpg\"><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/journal\/image15\/looney2015-02.jpg\"><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Devil May Hare<\/em> (1954, Robert McKimson)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Introduction of the Tazmanian Devil character, whom Bugs torments then finally defeats by hooking him up with a lady devil.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/journal\/image15\/looney2015-03.jpg\"><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/journal\/image15\/looney2015-04.jpg\"><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Duck Dodgers in the 24 1\/2th Century<\/em> (1953, Chuck Jones)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Great one, full of disintegration-ray jokes.  Daffy is Duck Dodgers, Porky his trusty assistant, and they fight Marvin for control over Planet X.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/journal\/image15\/looney2015-05.jpg\"><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Feed the Kitty<\/em> (1952, Chuck Jones)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>One of my faves.  Wasn&#8217;t appreciated by my menagerie.<br \/>\nDog enamored with cute kitten, takes him home, thinks his owner has baked the kitten into a batch of cookies, cries, is reunited with kitten.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/journal\/image15\/looney2015-06.jpg\"><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Rabbit Hood<\/em> (1949, Chuck Jones)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Bugs is caught stealing the king&#8217;s carrots by the sheriff of Nottingham, messes with him relentlessly, occasionally interrupted by a dim-witted Little John.  There&#8217;s no actual Robin Hood until the very end when Errol Flynn appears via a clip from <em>The Adventures of Robin Hood<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/journal\/image15\/looney2015-08.jpg\"><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Rabbit of Seville<\/em> (1950, Chuck Jones)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>On a theater stage by accident, Bugs torments Elmer while pretending to enact the Barber of Seville.  Quite excellent, but only a prelude to the even greater <em>What&#8217;s Opera, Doc<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/journal\/image15\/looney2015-09.jpg\"><\/p>\n<p>And a couple I&#8217;ve <a href=\"\/journal\/archives\/2092\">written up before<\/a>:<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>One Froggy Evening<\/em> (1955, Chuck Jones)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Influenced by a Cary Grant movie called <em>Once Upon a Time<\/em>, according to wikipedia.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/journal\/image15\/looney2015-07.jpg\"><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>What&#8217;s Opera, Doc<\/em> (1956, Chuck Jones)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Voted the greatest cartoon of all time, a more stylized opera rendition than Seville, Elmer with his spear and magic hellllmet.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/journal\/image15\/looney2015-10.jpg\"><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/journal\/image15\/looney2015-11.jpg\"><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/journal\/image15\/looney2015-12.jpg\"><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>After a Thanksgiving feast I brought out a bunch of Looney Tunes in shiny HD. &#8220;Who doesn&#8217;t love Looney Tunes,&#8221; I thought.
