Terrific high-framerate steadicam, long takes, great lighting in their custom-built sty.  I wondered how much of that was natural light, and remembered reading about the house in <em>Turin Horse<\/em>, which turned out an apt comparison, per the <a href=\"https:\/\/britishcinematographer.co.uk\/victor-kossakovsky-discusses-black-and-white-silent-film-gunda\/\">British Cinematographer article<\/a> I read.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/journal\/image21\/gunda1.jpg\"><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/journal\/image21\/gunda2.jpg\"><\/p>\n<p>Structurally it&#8217;s:<br \/>\n&#8211; baby pigs are born<br \/>\n&#8211; chickens interlude<br \/>\n&#8211; pigs growing up<br \/>\n&#8211; cows interlude<br \/>\n&#8211; pigs taken away from momma pig<\/p>\n<p>And it&#8217;s almost a perfect movie, but for the cows, who do nothing except swat away flies (or more often, failing to swat away flies).
