Jodie &#8220;<em>The Last Duel<\/em>&#8221; Comer is our entry point, being interviewed by Mike Faist (who has nothing to do here) about her relationship with Elvis Butler and the changing forms of the club.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/journal\/image24\/bikeriders3.jpg\"><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/journal\/image24\/bikeriders4.jpg\"><\/p>\n<p>Nichols&#8217;s dream project based on a photo book about the real club.  Feels kinda flat, sorta what&#8217;s-the-point &#8211; if you&#8217;re going to make <em><a href=\"\/journal\/archives\/12610\">Rumble Fish<\/a><\/em> then don&#8217;t hold back, just make <em>Rumble Fish<\/em>.  At least it&#8217;s smart enough to cast The Bonnie Man as a bartender and to end strongly, and of course it&#8217;s better than <em><a href=\"\/journal\/archives\/16280\">Ferrari<\/a><\/em>.  Note that my options tonight were this Mike Faist movie where two sporting men who are deeply in love keep getting challenged, or <em>Challengers<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/journal\/image24\/bikeriders2.jpg\"><\/p>\n<p>some riders:<br \/>\nMichael Shannon, the director&#8217;s lucky charm<br \/>\nDamon Herriman (<a href=\"\/journal\/archives\/13145\">Charles Manson<\/a>) as Hardy&#8217;s right-hand man<br \/>\nEmory Cohen (<em><a href=\"\/journal\/archives\/10777\">Brooklyn<\/a><\/em>) wants to quit and become a cop<br \/>\nToby Wallace (<em><a href=\"\/journal\/archives\/15982\">The Royal Hotel<\/a><\/em>) shoots Hardy and takes over<br \/>\nHappy Anderson (<em>The Standoff at Sparrow Creek<\/em>) must have been the first challenger<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/journal\/image24\/bikeriders1.jpg\"><\/p>\n<p>other riders: Blueface from <em><a href=\"\/journal\/archives\/11597\">The Nice Guys<\/a><\/em>, Karl Glusman of Noe&#8217;s <em><a href=\"\/journal\/archives\/10738\">Love<\/a><\/em>, Boyd Holbrook of <em><a href=\"\/journal\/archives\/15932\">Dial of Destiny<\/a><\/em>, and Norman Reedus of <em><a href=\"\/journal\/archives\/133\">Cigarette Burns<\/a><\/em>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Tom Hardy is the absolute best as a family man whose mind got warped by a TV viewing of The Wild One so he adopted a Brando voice\/pose and formed a motorcycle club that provided a real good time for a group of empty-headed friends before it got too big for him to control.
