{"id":170,"date":"2006-12-31T21:00:28","date_gmt":"2007-01-01T01:00:28","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/deeperintomovies.net\/journal\/archives\/170"},"modified":"2007-12-31T02:58:15","modified_gmt":"2007-12-31T06:58:15","slug":"brandons-five-worst-movies-of-2006","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/deeperintomovies.net\/journal\/archives\/170","title":{"rendered":"Brandon&#8217;s Five Worst Movies of 2006"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>1. <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/deeperintomovies.net\/journal\/archives\/30\">Kingdom of Heaven<\/a> (director&#8217;s cut)<\/strong> &#8211; Not even its May 2005 release date can save this from being the worst movie of 2006.<\/p>\n<p>2. <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/deeperintomovies.net\/journal\/archives\/23\">Art School Confidential<\/a><\/strong> &#8211; The bit at the end &#8211; about how the only way to be a successful artist is to be a fraud (the cop) or a notorious killer (our protagonist) &#8211; wasn&#8217;t worth the whole misguided, hateful, unfunny journey.<\/p>\n<p>3. <strong>Hostel<\/strong> &#8211; Couldn&#8217;t justify filling my head with nightmares of dangling eyeballs meeting power drills.  I will be shocked if the revenge ending was supposed to be taken seriously&#8230; seemed so sloppy that it felt like a loving tribute to bad plotting.<\/p>\n<p>4. <strong>Hellraisers <a href=\"http:\/\/deeperintomovies.net\/journal\/archives\/65\">7<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/deeperintomovies.net\/journal\/archives\/67\">8<\/a><\/strong> &#8211; I&#8217;d heard they were bad, I knew they&#8217;d be bad, I watched them anyway.  Put the word &#8220;Hellraiser&#8221; on anything and I&#8217;ll watch it.  At least they were bad\/fun, hence only the number four slot.<\/p>\n<p>5. <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/deeperintomovies.net\/journal\/archives\/39\">The Yes Men<\/a><\/strong> &#8211; Such an obviously funny subject, and from the directors of American Movie.  So why does it feel so dull and hastily-compiled?  Most unexpectedly crappy movie of the year.<\/p>\n<p>Dishonorable mentions go to <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/deeperintomovies.net\/journal\/archives\/118\">Dance of the Dead<\/a><\/strong> (for being worse than the Hellraisers, but with lower expectations), <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/deeperintomovies.net\/journal\/archives\/164\">The Leopard<\/a><\/strong> (for being extremely tedious), Fritz Lang&#8217;s <strong>Beyond a Reasonable Doubt<\/strong> (for having the most ludicrous script and characters), and <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/deeperintomovies.net\/journal\/archives\/150\">Walk The Line<\/a><\/strong> (for pointlessly hollywoodizing Johnny Cash&#8217;s life)<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>1.
