Funny to watch this experimental remake of his previous film right after <em><a href=\"\/journal\/archives\/19030\">Funny Games US<\/a><\/em>.  The first half is a ballet adaptation containing music videos and animated bits.  After Puppet Petrouchka becomes a ghost, each character gets a solo dance and debrief.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/journal\/image26\/dilation1.jpeg\"><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/journal\/image26\/dilation2.jpeg\"><\/p>\n<p><em>The butt-faces remind me of <a href=\"\/journal\/archives\/19033\">Tsukamoto<\/a>, but the film is dedicated to Terayama Shuji:<\/em><br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/journal\/image26\/dilation3.jpeg\"><\/p>\n<p>Part two, <em>The Deviant Comedy<\/em>, is a victory lap through the <a href=\"\/journal\/archives\/16549\">Conann<\/a> story with our buddy Rainer, and some changes (did any of the women have bat-wings for arms in the previous films?).<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/journal\/image26\/dilation4.jpeg\"><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/journal\/image26\/dilation5.jpeg\"><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Another part of the Conann expanded universe, this one entirely in split-screen.
