Murnau)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I watched the 90-minute export version this time (with translated czech titles?).  The main problem I usually have with <em>Sunrise<\/em> is that it&#8217;s too long for the Lambchop double-album I like to play with it, and the main problem with the 90-minute version is that it&#8217;s too short for the Lambchop album.  Somebody needs to cut a version of <em>Sunrise<\/em> that is exactly the right length for the Lambchop album!  Next time I&#8217;ll try the French DVD that has &#8217;em pre-synched so I can see how they did it.<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/deeperintomovies.net\/journal\/image09\/sunrise2.jpg\" alt=\"image\"><\/p>\n<p>The marriage-threatening amoral woman from the city, Margaret Livingston, apparently specialized in broken-marriage films in the silent era, appearing in films named <em>Married Alive<\/em>, <em>After Marriage<\/em>, <em>Wandering Husbands<\/em>, <em>Divorce<\/em> and <em>Alimony<\/em>.<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/deeperintomovies.net\/journal\/image09\/sunrise1.jpg\" alt=\"image\"><\/p>\n<p>Male lead George O&#8217;Brien worked regularly with John Ford and after 1932 exclusively appeared in Westerns, ending his career with Ford&#8217;s <em>Cheyenne Autumn<\/em> in &#8217;64.  I think I like him better than Charles Farrell.<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/deeperintomovies.net\/journal\/image09\/sunrise8.jpg\" alt=\"image\"><\/p>\n<p>Janet Gaynor won the first best actress oscar for this along with <em><a href=\"http:\/\/deeperintomovies.net\/journal\/archives\/2991\">Seventh Heaven<\/a><\/em> and <em><a href=\"http:\/\/deeperintomovies.net\/journal\/archives\/1527\">Street Angel<\/a><\/em>, would be nominated again in the sound era (<em>A Star Is Born<\/em>, 1937) and then retire.<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/deeperintomovies.net\/journal\/image09\/sunrise4.jpg\" alt=\"image\"><\/p>\n<p>The city:<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/deeperintomovies.net\/journal\/image09\/sunrise3.jpg\" alt=\"image\"><\/p>\n<p>Pig in the city:<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/deeperintomovies.net\/journal\/image09\/sunrise5.jpg\" alt=\"image\"><\/p>\n<p>Boat rescue:<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/deeperintomovies.net\/journal\/image09\/sunrise7.jpg\" alt=\"image\"><\/p>\n<p>Sunrise:<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/deeperintomovies.net\/journal\/image09\/sunrise9.jpg\" alt=\"image\"><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I watched the 90-minute export version this time (with translated czech titles?).
