They&#8217;re always so reliably entertaining &#8211; except to Katy, who still hasn&#8217;t forgotten how much she hated <em><a href=\"\/journal\/archives\/4\">Kageroza<\/a><\/em> four years later.  Maybe she&#8217;d like these earlier, more straightforward films over the late, poetic, bonkers ones.<\/p>\n<p>This isn&#8217;t stylistically bonkers, but it&#8217;s got a super-twisty plot compared to <em><a href=\"\/journal\/archives\/4848\">A Colt Is My Passport<\/a><\/em>, or even to a similar disgraced-cop detective story like <em><a href=\"\/journal\/archives\/4130\">Stray Dog<\/a><\/em>.  Lead character Tamon (Michitaro Mizushima of <em>Underworld Beauty<\/em>) isn&#8217;t even a cop, just a prison security guard, but he does as well connecting the dots as Mifune in <em>Stray Dog<\/em>.  He was on duty when a sniper took aim at the police van, and now that he&#8217;s suspended from duty he spends his free time trying to solve the case independently.<\/p>\n<p><em>Tamon with his Underworld Beauty costar Mari Shiraki:<\/em><br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/journal\/image10\/takeaim1.jpg\"><\/p>\n<p><em>Shadowy suspicion:<\/em><br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/journal\/image10\/takeaim3.jpg\"><\/p>\n<p><em>Dancing girls:<\/em><br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/journal\/image10\/takeaim5.jpg\"><\/p>\n<p><em>No U Turn:<\/em><br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/journal\/image10\/takeaim4.jpg\"><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Something like my tenth Suzuki movie.
