Seiter)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The one where a rich guy (Adolphe Menjou of <em><a href=\"\/journal\/archives\/8648\">Morocco<\/a><\/em> and <em><a href=\"\/journal\/archives\/6627\">The Tall Target<\/a><\/em>) writes love letters to his daughter Rita Hayworth, intending for her to get into a romantic mood then when he finds someone she can marry, he&#8217;ll pin the letters on that guy.  It pulls off the could&#8217;ve-been-icky premise pretty well.  Anyway, self-important dancer Fred Astaire (with a big Omaha shout-out) comes along, Rita thinks he wrote the letters, bam.<\/p>\n<p>Nominated for some sound &#038; music oscars but lost to the more patriotic <em><a href=\"\/journal\/archives\/1474\">Holiday Inn<\/a><\/em> and <em>Yankee Doodle Dandy<\/em>.
